I'm just a small town girl. I first realized my passion for writing at the age of 14, when I set out to write my first book. I wrote the entire thing by hand (hand cramps galore!) and finished it at 16. Once it was typed up, the cover hand illustrated by yours truly, I sent it out to several different publishers with high hopes. I was more than a little crest fallen when I received replies that turned me down, or no replies at all. Somehow no one wanted to take a chance on an inexperienced teenaged writer...go figure.

Yet it wasn't until I lost a vast number of 'manuscripts in progress' during a cross country move, that I nearly gave up on my writing dreams. There have been a few other times when I've found myself in a pit of non-writing despair. But in these times, thanks to loved ones and stalwart fans, I've learned this important lesson. Life has an uncanny ability to get in the way of your dreams, but it also has a funny way of always working out in the end. It pulls us along with the tide and somehow makes us stronger in the process.

'Edge of Instinct' was my debut novel, in what I hope to be a long writing career.

When I'm not taking care of kids, or doing those adulty things we all have to do like wrestling the man eating pile of laundry, there are a few things I enjoy doing just for me. Among those things are reading, writing, crafting, drawing, gardening and soaking up the warm Colorado sun. Despite enjoying the sun I admit I'm not much of a sporty/outdoorsy girl. Bugs enjoy eating me for dessert far too much, and I have a penchant for turning my toes into accordions on innocent furniture. Coordination is not my strongest asset.
